U.S. location photographer Kari Greer began her career by taking several overseas assignments from private clients desiring travelogue-type coverage of places like Spain, Morocco, Bali, and Iceland. The early discipline gave her a practical introduction to challenging assignment work that has become her specialty. Her work in fire photography arose after several college summers working as a wildland firefighter for the US Forest Service. She maintains Red-Card flireline qualifications and is currently under contract to the National Interagency Fire Center covering wildland fires, nationwide. She is an established commercial and editorial photographer based near Boise, Idaho.
Kari tends to see stories in subjects, even while shooting stills. She photographs from a photojournalistic/ documentary approach with an art aesthetic. The overall picture develops as she watches and learns, looking for the nuances; keeping eyes open to the magic contained in the small details.
